Eat something soft and cold like ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet etc. THe cold really numbs the pain. If you are still hurting, take an OTC like tylenol or advil.

There is an over the counter medicine called anbesol. You just rub it on your gums and your mouth becomes numb. I used that when I had to wear braces it worked like a charm. As long as you don't mind a numb tingly sensation for 5 minutes. Then you experiance pain releif for about an hour or so. You can reapply it any time.

Drink ice water, take advil, buy Orajel on your gums to stop the soreness, and brush your teeth SOFTLY! Thats all I can say. Good luck!

when you go to appointments in the future i would recommend taking motrin before your appointment. I also recommend chewing gum after the appointment. I know it will hurt for a while but, the chewing relieves the pressure.

PEACE,

ABOUT THE ONLY THING THAT WILL WORK IS ADVIL.
WHY?
BECAUSE IT'S AN NSAID. NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDICINE.
IT WILL WORK ON THE PAIN AND INFLAMMATION RELATING TO TOOTH MOVEMENT OR EXTRACTIONS.
FORGET ORAJEL OR AMBESOL, THESE ARE FOR GUM IRRITATIONS AND NOT FOR WHERE THE PAIN COMES FROM THE TOOTH(teeth) ITSELF.
