Ok thats say that there is 6 dollars in the pot. There is one player left and he bets 2. Would you have to call 2 to win 8? Or call 2 to win 10?

After his bet there is actually $8 in the pot, and you have to pay $2 to win the $8. Your pot odds are 4::1, so your hand better have at least a 1::4 chance (1 to 4 = 1 out of 5, or 20%).

when the other player calls the pot is now 8 so u are calling 2 to win eight which is 4:!. Therefore you could justifiably call with hands such as flush draws, open ended straight draws, down to hands with about 5 outs this is because you have a 25 percent chance of hitting with 5 outs and you are calling 25% of the pot
5 outs multiply by 2 = 10 multiply by two and add a few = 20-25% chance of hitting (approx).

Pot odds, and implied odds are very important. But in some cases they are overrated as well. Yes you are getting 4-1 on your money but if you are playing someone who is pretty tight then the odds don't mean much unless you have a good hand. When i have 2-3 i don't think wow I'm getting 6-1 on my money so i have to call, i only use pot odds in situations that are favorable to me, not only when i have good odds to draw to my hand, but the opponents in the pot plus the strength of my hand will determine if the odds on the pot are right to call.

you don't factor in your potential call when calculating pot odds, so it is 2 to win 8
