Why, it costs more than any OS (same as vista ultimate).

Can you say monopolistic? But why would they inflate the price like that?

Its almost unreasonable.

It is a business. Computer experts and programmers are well educated and now earn a living by spending their days in an office designing programs to suit many needs. Contrary to the beliefs of some, this is work.

A production worker may work in a plant all day, while a computer programmer spends his day in an office with a computer. Both need to be paid for their time and effort.

You don't need them really unless you have a project that MUST be completed in Access. You can download a program for free called Open Office that is almost the same exact thing and all except its database program is 80% compatible with MS Office. Its "excell" and its "Word" are flawless. What is better is all of it can save to pdf.

There are different version of ms office you can go for the basic version it will cost less. Regardin g the price if you see the features of the msoffice no other office products gives you the features and even the support.
