(if that is even the correct term)
the short of it:
I have a recipe from Nigella Lawson that I want to make for our supper club dinner. It yields only 8 servings, and I have 11 people in our club. So I need some sort of recipe calculator to help me scale the recipe correctly. Anyone know of any (free) online ones like this? I tried at allrecipes.com, but the recipe cannot be submitted because it isn't mine.
TIA!

I don't know of any online because it was drilled into my brain from years of restaurant work that you should learn this quick calculation by hand.

8 to 11 conversion:

Divide the amount of each ingredient by 8 and then multiply that number by 11. Tada!!

If you don't want to do that, realistically just do one and a half times the recipe. That will be servings for 12 which will allow your guests for seconds OR do what I do and package up that extra portion before service and have a lunch ready to go for tomorrow!
