I know he will be remembered for the meltdown but he claimed in an interview after the Lewis fight that he was trying psychological warfare and he definitely had Lewis out of his game plan. He said Camacho, Duran and even Ali were allowed to employ their strategies. He has never been knocked down in his career and though Lewis was winning and McCall wasn't defending or throwing punches he wasn't in immediate danger. He has an impressive record and has never stopped fighting-- before the first Lewis fight he was best known for being Tyson's chief sparring partner. His next fight is in Turkey 2007-06-09 against Sinan Samil Sam (27-3-0) McCall is 41 and is currently ranked number 36 by boxrec ahead of Audley Harrison, Evander Hollyfield, and Joe Mesi. I am very curious and I haven't heard anything negative in the 10 years since that last fight with Lewis..

McCall said in an interview after beating Lewis (1st fight) that he cryed on the way to the ring as he knew the result of the fight would change his life. He also cryed on the way into the ring with his fight with Frank Bruno which he lost, basically i think it was just his way of pyching himself up which isent a bad thing even though it didnt always work. But the fight he had with Lewis no 2 which he lost was a totally different thing he just had a breakdown i think he knew he couldent win for various physical and mental reasons. I agree that he had lewis out of his game plan as lewis for a while just stopped hittihg him as he didnt know what to do, but McCall wasent firing back either so i don't know how he could call it psycological warfare as he didn't take any advantage. I imagine that hes just saying that as looking back on it hes embarrassed at crying in the middle of a fight. I don't think McCalls gonna end up in the hall of fame, but he seemed quite a likeable bloke and was a pretty decent fighter who in his prime would probably beat all of the current heavyweight champions around today. If he does make a come back it wouldent surprise me if he did quite well.

Blogbaba was in Vegas the night the night those two guys showed McCall something (a picture?) between rounds one and two of the 2nd Lewis fight, but not even the corner people know what they told him to make him stop throwing punches and become so emotional. That was a strange year for Lennox, several other fighters also refused to throw punches at him during their fights. Henry Akenwande got disqualified for holding and NOT hitting Lennox, and Golata lasted about a minute before splashing into the tank without trying to throw a punch. It would be interesting to know if Lennox changed handlers prior to all those strange events, it is unlikely anything dishonest would ever take place in boxing..............
Blogbaba lost track of Oliver McCall as well, a fight in Turkey is news to me, I had though Oliver had retired.

I saw the 2nd fight with Lennox and it was not what I call even a match, He didn't want to fight. He gave up. He whined and cried. As far as I'm concerned he should have given up his earnings and given back to all those fans that payed good money to see him fight. They saw him cry instead. What has he done since Lennox, you say he's fighting again what nobodys or his own shadow. He'll never make the Boxing Hall of Fame maybe the Hall of Shame is more apt. He's the type that gives the sport a bad name.

The dude was BAWLING during a fight. He was BAWLING while walking to the ring in the first fight. He legacy is of being a drugged-up, mentally unbalanced screwball who landed a lucky punch against Lennox Lewis. Idiots like him are blessed with physical talent and ruin it.

He had everyone out of their game plan. I would get my moneys worth to be at the fight when he fights. Crying. Hall of shame is where he is right now. I don't care how good he gets or who he beats no one will forget McCall. You have now heard something negative.

McCall has no place in the Hall of Fame, unless he goes there as a tourist. As far as his place in history, he will be remembered for the meltdown.

MC CALL WAS AN AVERAGE FIGHTER AND AVERAGE CHAMP. WHO HAS HE FOUGHT SINCE LEWIS (NOBODIES)? I WOULD NOT EVEN RANK HIM IN MY 100 GREATEST HVY WT.
P. S. IN TODAY'S HVY WT GAME WHICH IS LACKING, HE COULD WIN THE TITLE.

You misspelled "shame": therefore, leaving the question in its current state would deem it... not no, but... hell no !! Although, if asked with the proper spelling, I do and will confess not only yes..., but... hell yes !!
