im getting bottom braces on May 8th! and i am VERY afraid that its gonna hurt and have on top braces on right now and i am not a baby, but i over react a lot. if you can give me advise where i can get rid of my stress and nerves?

I just got my bottom braces on a couple days ago & it hurt...but after a day or 2 the pain goes away. They may be kind of sore, but its worth it! I can't wait to get them off & have a great smile! Some advice would be to not worry about it and try not to think about it either.

Well the good news is since you already have them you know what to expect. Although, with your fear don't worry I'm the SAME WAY.
I would recommend maybe journaling or bloging your feelings before. Find a good stress reliever. Then after you get braces, take IBUPROFEN and eat ice cream, soup, and anything that is easy on your teeth.

Ok first of its not that bad. Its like having really strong teeth and when you chew it will hurt at first and after every visit but only like three days. However, if you are getting spacers before braces those are the worst I am not going to lie to you. They go in between your teeth and push them apart, all I ate was liquids and pudding if you consider that a food. Overall its not that bad, you just got common nerves, and to get over it, just relax, and you will be fine.

you are over reacting right now! if the top aren't that bad, then the bottom ones won't be a big deal. i know, i've had braces on now for the past three years...

Just deal with it, I had braces for two years top and bottom, I had to undergo tightening, and rubber bands, and trust me it was all pain and no fun!
Once you see the results you will understand that all of the pain and suffering was necessary! ^_^

well, think of it this way. Im 26 and barely going to have them done. Before I can even do that I have to get my jaw broken and wired shut for 6 weeks to relocate it . You are lucky that you are getting this over with when your young ! Think of all the time and trouble your saving by having done now and think about that .

dont worry about it i was really worry about it too as you know getting the braces isnt that painful it just afterward just picture your self with really beautiful straight theeth and if you are really really worried bring a stress ball or bring over to help you

well my brother got his bottom braces just a couple of days ago and he said that it did not hurt at all and my brother is the biggest sissy lol so i dont know whether to believe him or not my mom said he was fine thou so you will be great!

dont worry about it!!!!!!! i use to be very scared but seriously its not big deal i mean its the same as having no braces just that ull have better teeth than the people that dont have them. anyways just dont think about it and let loose and live ur life girl!

Just chill. When you get home just get some ice cream to relieve the pain and watch some TV.
