I dated this guy about a year ago. We both were head over heals but i went out of town one weekend my phone was shut off so i couldnt call him so he thought i didnt want to be with him and started to date someone else. Why now a year later am i still wanting to know how he is..whats hes doing in life..is his new g/f treating him good..i still think about him alot and miss him from time to time..we use to be really good friends before all that happen. Im with someone now but we have been going on and off for years and i dated the other guy in between the one im with now. Am i silly to be thinking like this..he seems to have gotten over me ( i think) but he still lerks in my head..what should i do?

Well, you guys seemed to be really close, especially being good friends in addition to a couple...but hun how can you not be over someone who would instantly jump to another girl just because you didn't answer your phone for ONE WEEKEND? Sounds like a complete jerk and seems like he didn't care about you as much as you thought...you can definately do better. It's natural to still have feelings for someone you were in love with and wonder how they're doing...but if you're with someone new, focus on them...it's unfair to still hang onto the past...don't let your past run your future...distract yourself and cut off ties with your ex if you really wanna move on

The real question is.. how weird is it to just go out of town for just one weekend, and come back and your boyfriend is dating someone else?? and you guys didn't even TALK about it, have ONE conversation? normal people would say, 'sorry, my phone got shut off' 'oh, ok good i was afraid you werent inreested anymore' 'of course not!' = a simple mishap. how does one weekend with a phone shut off lead to a broken relationship, if you guys were truly 'head over heels' about eachother? Looks like you need to seriously brush up on your communication skills girl. A simple conversation would have prevented this!
how long were you together for?

Push him out of your head and go on with your life if he's married. If he's single and you are single..well ok or not happy then look him up and tell him how you feel about the subject. If he isn't interested then you have your answer. Most of the time you are over someone when their thought of them doesn't come into your mind once a day or you no longer cry that you aren't with them

Just gotta know, huh?

I don't sense a lot of "love" here, more conscience of the moment. It could be you're wondering the second thoughts game, "Coulda, shoulda, woulda" (Honest folks, I don't make these things up.)

Where are the thoughts of the other guys while all this is going on in your head? No, I don't sense a lot of worry, just puzzlement.

That said, I think your best bet is to move on. Remember, he's had ample time to have had second thoughts about you and He didn't make a move. So, yeah, move on.

It's quite normal to look for your most successful relationship and want it back. If you do get back in contact it's really unlikely that he's the same person... I know people change first hand. You want more than you currently have, at least as much as you have had with this certain man. Your mind instinctively looks for ways to get it back or replace it.

Call him, just to see how he's doing at least. If you try you can get over him eventually but you will always wonder what would happen if you had called, and if it doesn't work you can move on knowing that it was simply not ment to be.

if u are still thinking about him then try to give him a call, ask him to lunch or something you never know how things will turn out. at least this way you will know for sure and it will stop driving you crazy. good luck
