Would you pray for me? - youth worker job?

Question

The other day I was e-mailed by an old friend who is wanting me to take up a part time youth worker position at his church, which in some ways it seems like a great opportunity, and I'm flattered that he thought of me. Just the night before I was praying with a friend about jobs, amongst other things, so that's cool.

I've also got a few hang-ups though - it's working with rough kids, and I'm not sure if I'm cut out for working with youth anyway, mainly because I was very ill with stress a couple of years ago. (I have been involved with youth and kids work in the past, and I've been starting to get involved again).

Prayer and advice (especially from any youth workers) would be muchly appreciated!

I'm thinking of just going along to the groups whilst living from home to "test the water".

I pray that you know yourself best. As we have told that GOD never gives you more than you can handle (this is usually what we get ourselves into) helping others can hardly be a mistake.

What ever choice you make, you'll always need patience. Work from the serenity within.

you will be fine both of my sisters are youth workers one is with the church the other one is with a after school club and they love it going along to the group to test the waters is a good idea it will let you see what it is like before you commit to anything

Thank-you for leading her by the Holy Spirit and protecting her with the Blood, the Word and the Ministering Spirits which you have provided through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. test the waters, and bring it before the lord. you know, if it's His will for your life...........in light of the fact that this opportunity came up after praying, and out of the blue..........it very well could be God's hand..........and He will equip you for every good work!

I prayed about it for you. God is telling me to warn you not to take the job.

Working with ANY kids these days is frankly depressing. If they are are "tough" kids, you really need to find another hobby. I might even be suspicious about the friend who asked you. What are HIS motives?
