It must be a cocker thing. Both of mine liked runner beans. If we didn't keep an eye on them they'd nick them straight off the vines. While preparing them I'd had a cocker either side of me waiting for me to accidentally on purpose drop one. They also like the core from apples and pears. They also loved raw carrots. They would have one every night after their dinner. They'd sit and wait by the fridge until they got one.
Vegetables are good for dogs. In the wild they would eat animals that had eaten vegetation. The breeder I had my cockers off had researched natural food for dogs and she always gave her dogs vegetables. It hasn't done mine any harm. One dog lived to be 13 and my other will be 15 in July.
I know onions can be poisonous and lettuce can give them gripe. They shouldn't eat grapes either.

It for sure isn't good to feed your dog extras. When I say extras i of course mean candy, and not chocolate or onions, those are toxic to dogs. Although i think every now and then it is good to feed them a little somethin' somethin'. Veggies work fine, fruits if he'll eat them and the occasional peice of bread and cheese. Oh, and i think milk is good for them too, my dog drinks it from time to time. So in other words, eating broadbeans is fine.
