People who think mass destruction is a good thing should not be trusted with sharp objects, much less WMDs.
I don't want someone who thinks that blowing himself up is a sure ticket to heaven anywhere near me. But I am far more worried about people who believe that a war in the Mid East will bring Jesus back. Especially when those people have their finger on a nuclear trigger.

No, you misunderstand what the End of Times means. When we all are with God it will be an end to the physical world, NOT the spiritual world. We all have the oppurtunity to live forever then. It is a beginning. This is why it is the greatest thing that can happen. We all will get a chance to start new, to live our lives in Paradise. You must understnad what the words End of Times means before you fear it.

The irony is that these people have been around since the beginning of time. History is rife with people predicting the end of times and waiting for the apocalypse to free them from their earthly shackles. Should we fear them? No, not really. Most of them are more dangerous to themselves than they are to the rest of us. For every nutcase that does something drastic to harm innocent bystanders, hundreds of these people go about their daily lives and leave people alone. You'll find the same holds true for regular people who do not consider or fear the end of times. Some of us are nuts. Most of us mind our own business. If it was really a cause for concern, something would have happened a long time ago. Keep an eye on anyone who is unstable, regardless of their views on the end of civilization, and you'll be fine. Have a good one!

We should be willing to debate irrational views whenever they occur.
Religious nuts who believe that the end of the world is near have a dismal view of humankind and the potential for our species. It's easier to write off human conflict or societal ills when you say it's "god's plan."

People who are obsessed with the 'end times' and the destruction of the world aren't very happy with their lives. People like that have serious mental and social issues.

Yes - very much so. It leads to the irrsponsible view that we don't have to worry about justice, peace, and sustainable living here and now because wholesale destruction will bring about the Millennium. This is crazy talk, and fortunately it is limited to a small minority of religious people. Most people of faith understand the need to work transformation in this world rather than striving for its end.

Only in so much as these people could look for ways to try and bring about the death and destruction they think fits with their religions text!

what do you mean look forward? As far as I know we've been in end times since Pentecost, which is why we were given the Holy Spirit until the second coming of Christ

Yes, because quite a few people close to the US president Bush are end-timers. The start point, of course, is Israel at war with the Arabs.
What does that say about their desire for peace in the middle east?
