What healthy foods can I bring with me on my United Airlines plane to Paris?
Should I just eat the food served on the plane or is it gonna be really unhealthy and gross? What kind of food

You can request all kinds of meals: low fat, kosher, no protien, vegetarian, vegan, etc.

Actually, I've found that airline meals are not so bad. Sure, it's no five-star restaurant... but when I get a meal it's usually refreshing and filling.

Try the food being offered, as on an international flight it's likely the food will be better than on a domestic service. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids, and resist the temptation to drink too much alcohol. Try and get some sleep if possible, and if you want to bring some food with you, how about some sandwiches, a big bottle of water, and some fresh fruit and vegies that are light and won't make you feel down and out when you arrive in Paris. Enjoy your trip!

USA to France will probably be chicken or beef with some veg. They are usually healthy and balanced meals on the plane. You'll get yogurt, some fruit and other breakfasty things if you'll be on the plane in the morning.

If that doesnt sound ok then just call or email the airline and ask what meal options they do. They'll have a vegi option which will probably be pasta with vegetables. They also do lactose vegi or vegan options, just make sure you tell them you want it in advance and they'll sort it out for you.

Like the earlier poster said - you can request a special meal by calling the airlines - such as vegetarian. You can take your chances with the "turbo" chicken they serve. Usually you get a salad, roll and some type of dessert. I pack those Nabisco 100 calorie packs which are pretty good if the food isn't.

Any food served on airplanes will most likely have sodium in it. Your best solution, since you are going to eat it all before you land anyway, is to bring apple slices, carrots, some instant oatmeal, organic chocolate, clementines. That should keep you busy and full and happy. Also, if you are allowed, bring as much bottled water as you can carry, because they just don't give you much inflight. Wear comfy shoes, don't wear your jewelry, and wear stretchy clothing, because your body just swells during flight.

Other kinds of foods that might help with the need to snack are trail mixes or granola bars or something like that. I haven't been to France, but on other overseas flights, the food was fairly decent, although it was clear it was "nuked." But, what are you gonna do?

The other poster was right, though, drink a lot of water/fluids, and stretch often.
Enjoy the flight.

I have been to Paris twice on Air France and they give you variations of semi French dishes, it is kind of fun actually! They will generall give you a bit of cheese though which is very salty, along with the rest of the meal, make sure to drink lots of water and take potassium pills before you fly, this will help break down the salt that will accumulate from eating it and sitting so long... :)

Unless it's overseas, you're not going to get a free meal anymore.

We always bring apple slices and carrots. If you can leave them in their original bags, you can take them on the plane with you.
