I believe that we should at first do A ( That we should give it unconditionally to others) but if you get to know them and then you do B (That they must earn our respect first?)

Just treat all others with the same respect, then see if it comes back. Of it doesn't, then its not your problem because you were already being respectful.

For people to earn respect will only alienate you, because no one will want to play your game.

I would put it on the same level as trust. Respect and trust people until they give you a reason not to. It is not a question of earning respect or trust, it should be a question of losing respect or trust. Yes, this can lead to your being hurt but that's one of the sacrifices you have to make to lead a good life.

i give my respect to all humans. The fact that you are human means you have already earned my respect. Nothing else needs to be done. On the other hand, people respect me because i respect them and if they don't and cross my boundaries, then i just stop dealing/ associating with them but they will always have my respect. They just don't get the chance to disrespect me

Respect is a term that varies based on the perceptions of the person reading the word. One can be as respectful in intention as much as humanly possible, and yet there's always going to be SOMEONE out there who feels "disrespected". It's a word that has been warped out of context so badly it's not even funny anymore.

I think everyone deserves the basic respect that all human beings should recieve, but some people have earned more of your respect then others.

That you give respect unconditionally because we are all human beings and we all have the right to decide for ourselves who and what we choose to be. It is not necessary that you and I agree but it is necessary that I value you because you also are a child of God.

Respect should always be given unless it from someone doing evil. How does someone earn respect ? Who decides the price?

Good question.

We are all human beings. No matter race, religion, gender, age, etc.

As human beings we all deserve respect.
The more respect you give, the more respect you'll get. So, yes, to a certian degree respect is earned.

But I believe there is a baseline level of respect we should all try to maintain.

A~

I give respect unconditionally but I can tell you that I don't always succeed. I just have to keep trying to practice compassion and kindheartedness....I know it sounds wishy washy but that's just what I think. Best to you.
