My roommate has a fever of 104.5 since yesterday around 9 pm.
She's been having a lot of nightmares and her cheeks are red. But other then that nothing else but the fever. I called my cousin who is a doctor but he's busy and won't be here until about an hours or so.
Will a cool bath help lower her fever?
Or will it only make it wores?
What should I do to lower her fever?

Yes. If an adult has a temperature of more than 104 F or has had a fever for more than three days get medical help.

You need to drop her fever quickly. Give her tylonol or aspirine in order to drop that fever quickly. Now the question is : Why does she has a strong fever? The flu? A cold ?? If you can't answer yes to that question then she might have an infection and needs to be at the ER. Also before giving her any anti-fever medication make sure she is not allergic to anyone of them. Good luck

I would get her to an er if she has a fever of 104.5, that is very high and can cause some very bad things to happen. So yes get to an er as soon as possible

Having a fever that high for more than 24 hours is MUCH too dangerous. She could have a seizure as a result of such high body tempertures. Yes dean do your friend a favor and take her to the ER immediately.

Yeah, that's dangerously high! Something should be done to bring that down. A cool bath will help in the short run, but the wisest thing would be to head for the ER now.

You need to lower the temperature immediately. You can ask the help of a medical professional. They may suggest sticking her in a bathtub of cold water. I am not kidding. If you take her into the ER, they will put cold packs on her, which is the same principle.

How very odd that you've asked about five or six variations of this question. If this is a true scenario and not some sort of odd research for a reader response to a scene in one of your novels, I'd suggest getting off the computer and taking her to an urgent care clinic.

That tempature could cause brain damage! You should take her to the ER right away! Do not give her a bath! It can make it worse. Not very worse just a little.
