is there a parrot rescue in scotland or north england where i can obtain such birds

There is an organisation called Parrot rescue here in the U.K. They operate on the web under Parrot line. You will need to be a paid up member before you can even look at the birds for re homing. You will also have to pass some pretty heavy vetting. Most parrots that are up for adoption come with traumatic case history.

RSPCA would be able to help you,or get cage and avairy magazine some are listed there.
Think long and ahrd on having a parrot they are like children need a lot of attention get bored and depressed as well mine own is 74 a hen african grey who is a little darling!!!

I would go on www.petfinders.com which is based here in the United States and ask them for their advice. They should know how to contact someone in YOUR area with either a website or phone number.
I'm sure that there must be a rescue somewhere in England.

purston bird sanctuary maybe able to help in pontefract west yorkshire he rescues parrots but don't know if he re homes them or not. However he will be able to give you advice and may know of an other sanctuary near you. hope this helps
