Try peanut butter - the plain kind made with just peanuts is best. Get a glob of peanut butter in a spoon, and push the pill into it. Wash your hands before you handle the glob of pb again, so you don't get the scent of the pill on the outside of the pb glob. Then shape the pb around the pill, making sure only fresh pb that didn't touch the pill is on the outside of the glob. Then give it to the dog. Peanut butter is nice & sticky, so most dogs will eat it without spitting it back out.
If that doesn't work, just put a tiny bit of butter on the pill, lift his head vertically, open his mouth, and drop the pill down his throat, aiming for the opening at the back of the throat - try to get the very center of the hollow so it won't touch the back of his tongue. Then hold his mouth shut for a moment and blow gently on his nose to distract him and make him swallow. Follow with a yummy treat.

Nasty, stinky wet cat food in the small cans. You know Pungent" smelling. Beef or chicken flavors. My dogs love that disgusting stuff. I also try ice cream ( a little bit!) I have had dogs that were a real "challenge" to get pills into. Finally, I surrendered, because my older huge mastiff is on arthritis meds, I get the liquid, and squirt it right down. I am too tired to struggle with him.

I always hide the pill in a spoonful of peanut butter and place it on a cracker. Works everytime I have to give the dog Dramamine on those long road trips.
I would also recommend giving your dog a few peanut butter cracker treats without the pill in it before you give him the one with the pill.

did you try giving him some treats before giving him the one that was wrapped with the pill?
what the vet told me one time was to put the pill in the dog's mouth far back enough and then close his mouth. soothe his throat for a bit till he swallowed the pill. it worked.
hope these suggestions help.

I think you should grind up the pill and mix it with some dog food (wet of course) and if that doesn't work then go to the vet and see if you veterinarian can help you with feeding your dog the pill.

Its pretty easy... Open the dogs mouth by placing your fingers on the side of his muzzle and wedging it open. Shove the pill down as close to the back of his mouth as possible and close his mouth and hold his muzzle closed.
Continue to hold his muzzle as you stroke his throat. This will encourage him to swallow.
Never fails.. this is how we'd do it in the vet office. Last resort - get a pill popper from your vet.
Good Luck

Just break the pill up and then put it in some meat. Maybe a meat with a strong smell like liverwurst or something.

well get its favorit treat and make sure u make it EXTRA smelly and tuck the pill safely inside. just focus on getting the pill in the dog, or wait til its hungry and put the pill in its food. if its hungry enough it will eat it. dont give up!! hope this helps!

open his mouth and put the pill as far back as you can close his mouth like Sandy said but, here's the trick; slightly blow in his face this will trigger his instinct to swallow. If you just hold his mouth closed that will not force him to swallow, he'll just spit it out when you let go.
