Probably similar to Aleve - I was taking 2 to 3 pills at a time up to 8-pills a day. I wound up being anemic as I was aggravating my stomach. I have since been put on 3 pills a day of 15-mg of morphine.
Chronic pain is hard to live with. I know ice bags work but that is not always practical. I suggest you work with a pain management doctor.
My doctors have told me that besides anemia one can wreck kidneys and your liver. Again I say don't play doctor get professional help managing pain

hmm let's see.. the possible problems with an ibuprofen (advil) overdose are as follows: seizures, coma, liver failure, heart failure, vomiting, stomach bleeding, kidney failure, low blood pressure, slow breathing causing oxygen deprivation... the list goes on.
It is never advised to take more than is prescribed, or that is on the label of the drug. Different people "overdose" at different amounts of drugs, so there is no given magic number that you shouldn't exceed.

Actually, it is very difficult to take too many or "overdose" on Ibuprofen. Most healthy people can take several a day (but shouldn't) and it will not harm them at all. Ibuprofen is usually only dangerous to people with blood clotting problems and other issues.

on the liver I guess. Be careful with these over the counter medications. They can be deadly and you rarely get a second chance.
