Ok, all you fathers...question from the curious...why does it seem that if your daughter brings her boyfriend over to meet you, you seem to give a "death glare". And you get very protective if they step 2 feet near her, let alone touch her.
Same w/ older brothers.
I'm not saying all fathers and older brothers do this, it just seems to be common I guess.
Sorry if this sounds ignorant or anything, I'm just curious.

Protection! Men protect women and they step that up a couple hundred notches when it's their family! They want that guy to know that if he hurts their sister/wife/daughter, there will be hell to pay!

I think it's because they are guys and know more intimately what a guy can be thinking and feeling. They remember what was on their mind with their girlfriends. They want to make sure that their daughter is treated with the respect.

i'm not a father, or an older brother, but, i think, all girls have been through this. they call it love, we call it over-protection. it makes them think they are in control of us and the situation.

my girlfriend's dad hates me n always gives me that glare. i dont blame him, id hate me too.
