Hi, No they are not always malignant, i had a cat many years ago that had a tumour on his thyroid, he was operated on and he was 10 at the time, he lived to be 17years and was healthy after his operation.

Generally speaking... cat's do have a higher incidence of cancerous tumors then say dogs or people. That doesn't, however, mean that all tumors are malignant. I'm not sure the exact statistics, but if it were my cat i'd have it removed and biopsied just in case, as they are more prone to malignancies.

No. Many cat are prone to fatty tumors that are not malignant. It is a good idea to get with a vet and have at least one tumor biopsied. Many cats develop fatty tumors because their diet is too heavy in fat. I have a dog right now that has so many fatty tumors that she would be at a vet for a month getting them all removed.

Yes animals can get cancer. Doesn't mean to say that all tumors are malignant, so would pay to get further tests.

No. You need to either have the mass removed and sent to a lab for analysis or have a biopsy done
