I think your best choice is a white cake. Most people can eat white cake, and you don't have to worry about chocolate allergies like yours, or nut allergies.

If you want to jazz it up a little, consider a filling like raspberry or lemon. You can also have your cake served with a little ice cream on the side.

We had a white cake, the filling was a really light lemon cream with raspberry on top of that. When you cut the cake it looked like a sunset...

The top layer (which we kept) was a 3-layer cake, the first layer was chocolate cake, then chocolate filling, white cake, chocolate filling, and topped with chocolate cake again. It was delicious (too bad your allergic to chocolate).

The guests didn't get any of the chocolate cake, but everyone raved on the white cake with lemon/raspberry filling.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

Usually white cake is the best for the actual cake part. And then you can mix it up with different fillings and do fun stuff with it. Like for instance I am having a 3 tiered cake and my colors are brown and pink. My bottom tier is going to be white with brown and pink stripes with some sort of yummy filling that I haven't decided on yet. The middle tier is going to be a pink cake with a brown ribbon thing and the inside is going to be chocolate cake with raspberry filling. I decided this because I think that it is going to look really good together. Then my top tier is going to be white with swirly brown and pink polka dot type things. I can't wait. So really you can do whatever you want. Good Luck!

Traditional White cake!
Beautiful and some people are allergic to chocolate so you don't want to choose chocolate. Plus, White just reeks of wedding. Every wedding that I have ever been to has traditional white cake.

Whatever flavor the bride and groom want. White is the "traditional" flavor. I think just because it is white. I wanted chocolate, my husband likes white. We had some layers white and some chocolate. I have even heard of carrot wedding cakes.

I went to a bridal show this past weekend. There was a cake maker there by the name of Lisa. Her cakes were good but her personality stunk.
She had a lemon-poppy cake & a peanut butter cake for samples. I chose the lemon-poppy. Though it was good, I spent part of the rest of the afternoon picking seeds out of my teeth. Not a good choice for wedding cake.

I had cheesecakes on each table. They were the centerpiece decorated with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Saved on having centerpiece flowers.. The reception hall took them away towards the end of dinner, cut them, and brought them back to the table with bowls of chocolate sauce for drizzling. They were raised in the center off of the table.. sitting on cake board that was placed on a glass ice cream sundae bowel.. with more fresh fruit inside for the guests to enjoy while their cakes were being cut.
