Ok i will answer truthfully.
I have mixed feelings. I dont understand the reason for the war. I know that it was triggered by the terrorist acts done by muslims but I do not feel that this war will stop terrorism. Wasn't the reason Bush attacked Iraq that he wanted to bring Saddam down? And he told everyone that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction but later on this was found out to be false. Not that I supported Saddam, he was a cruel leader. But my point is I dont think this war that is currently going on against Iraq is helping in any way. The deaths on 9/11 were not deserved; they were innocent lives lost for no reason. However, so many civilians in Iraq have been killed also. How can I support the troops when I see this? I have this pakistani channel and they were showing news in which the women was interviewing someone from the government (sorry I dont remember the name). She asked him what he thought about the civilian casualities and he said that during any war it is impossible to avoid but they try their best not to get anyone killed. Is this good enough? How much longer will this continue? I hope this war ends very soon.....although I can see both sides of the story muslims in islamic country can only see the deaths of the muslims. the war has sparked resentment among muslims in those countries toward the west much like the way this war has sparked resentment among the west toward muslims. Some propaganda and some truth is on both sides thats why we need to consider both. Otherwise how is peace possible?
sorry for the long answer....just how I feel

Here's my take as an American Muslim.
1. The war began on false premises (aka lies), therefore the US has no business being there.
2. I support the troops because they aren't really given the choice of whether to go to Iraq or go somewhere else/stay home. My friend's husband is a Marine and Muslim, so he's suffering from many points.
3. When it comes to any Mid-East situation, I don't rely on our own media sources, I go searching for my own truth. What I've found is that the Iraqis WERE glad that Saddam was overthrown and taken into custody, but they're not happy that the US had no plans at all for what to do when that happened. You see the situation now, it's a civil war because too many people are trying to take over. It's chaos, and while all of it is going on, our troops aren't given any direction and can't do anything about it. Iraqis think that the US is there for alterior reasons because they see that the US isn't doing anything to help, just sitting back and watching, which makes me feel disgusted at our government because I'm pretty sure they knew what was going to happen, and as long as Iraqis are doing all the killing for them, they can set their minds on other things.
I don't resent our troops at all. They joined the military with intentions to do something good for our country and our people, and once they are in, they're under the thumb of the government and have no say. Take for example Ehren Watada, refused to fight an illegal war and be held responsible for war crimes, so now he's facing some serious punishments. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehren_Watada
I just came back from a month in Egypt, and though I can't guarantee that the Iraqi opinion is shared (especially being in different circumstances) the Egyptians love Americans and the US, but aren't at all fond of the US government. I think this is a pretty popular opinion throughout the Middle East because it's all I've personally heard.
Hope it helps, and please don't think of me as unpatriotic. I love my country and what we stand for, I just think that our current "regime" is doing an extremely poor job and is costing the lives of non-Americans as well as Americans. Did you know the toll of US soldiers who have died in Iraq now exceed 3,000? That's more than the Americans who died on Sept. 11th.

Have you heard of Noam Chomsky? He is an American (no, he's not a Muslim) and I agree a lot of what he says.
This quote should tell you where he stands.
"The obvious reason for invading Iraq is still conspicuously evaded: establishing the first secure US military bases in a client state at the heart of the world’s major energy resources."
So, my views are with Noam Chomsky. So, I think that we (Americans) shouldn't be there at all. However, we are told by the government that we are fighting to give them democracy, which is absurd because look at Nicaragua and Haiti. We were supposed to give them democracy as well and ended up putting them in hell instead. So will Iraq be any different? Nope.
Oh well. As long as we believe that we are doing something "right" in Iraq then many Americans will sleep peacefully at night never once believing that their government are terrorist themselves.
"We should also be aware that much of the world regards Washington as a terrorist regime. In recent years, the US has taken or backed actions in Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, Sudan and Turkey, to name a few, that meet official US definitions of "terrorism" - that is, when Americans apply the term to enemies."

I think that this war is blown out way more then what it really is.
The terrorists are only terrorists because America is occupying their land.
America has occupied Afghanistan (Osama's motherland) for many years.
And America is helping the Israelis with funds, and Israelis are shooting at part of the Muslim ummah.
And as muslims, when we see a muslim brother or sister being terrorized or oppressed we should try to stop it as fast as we can.
So the terrorists dont know any other way to protect themselves of their families except in extreme measures.
I am nit justifying their acts by any means.
It is completely forbidden to kill innocent peoples.
"If you have killed one man, it is as if you have killed all of mankind. And if you have saved one man, it is as if you have saved all of mankind"
~Quran
Iraq was in a MUCH better situation when Sadam Husain was the leader then what the situation is now. Sure he may have opressed some people (and that is not allowed by any means either) but the people killed when he was in rule was MUCH fewer then when America tried to "help" Iraq.
9/11 happened because Al Quida was trying to prove to America that if they dont stop occuping Afghanistan and stop so called "terrorizing" (for lack of a better word) then America will be the one suffering.
This is not Islamic at all.
But the way i look at it is this:
Many people in Afghanistan, Palestine. iraq, iran (places like those) are growing with hate and learning to hate. They are learning to hate with so much passion because there is so much war. And when they hear their parents talk about how much they hate the enemy they feel the need to protect their family. So they go to some extreme measures.
Same with the little kids in palestine. When a tank goes to their town and starts shooting, are they supposed to just stand there? No they have every right to defend themselves. But they don’t have the advance weapons as Israelis do, so they use their recourses around them: Rocks.
When you see those pictures of kids throwing rocks you never see the pictures of the enemy with guns shooting at them.
This is what people mean by "The west portrays muslims as bloodthirsty and terrorists"
My opinion is to take the troops out. Which aren’t even helping the Iraqis at all. More Iraqi civilians have died then Americans. Muslims want peace just as anyone would, but they wont get it until they aren’t stereotyped anymore. And when America leaves them ALONE. I wish Bush will realize he is causing more damage and killings and murders and orphaned children then Sadam ever has. Bush is just as much an extremist as Osma is.
God Bless

LONG OVER DO. AS AN AMERICAN,NO AS A CHRISTIAN, WHO BY THE WAY WORSHIPS THE SAME GOD AS JEWS AND MUSLIMS. I FEEL, NO I KNOW, IT IS MY DUTY TO GOD/ALLAH TO PROTECT HIS WEAK AND INNOCENT CHILDREN. IF THERE IS ANY MUSLIN OUT THERE THAT THINKS OTHER WISE THEN I CHALLENGE YOUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR FAITH. MILLIONS OF MUSLIMS, SUNNI OR SHIITE WERE BEING MURDERED, ABUSED, RAPED, TORTURED AND DISGRACED BY A TRUE EVIL EMPIRE THAT USED ISLAM TO JUSTIFY ITS ACTIONS. A MUSLIN BELIEVER CAN PRAISE THAT WE ARE THERE AND AN ARAB TERRORIST SUPPORTER FEARS IT.
Koran (9:11 ) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The w! rath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah;
and there was peace.
A TRUE BELIEVER KNOWS ITS GODS / ALLAH DIVINE PLAN AND A TRUE BELIEVER SUPPORTS IT BECAUSE ITS IN THERE HEART.

I'm Muslim. I think that the War in Iraq is a War in Iraq and frankly, Bush only went there because he couldn't find bin Laden. I don't look at it as a "Muslim" issue though because it's not... It's an Arab issue, that Arabs would like to push as being a Muslim one.
Your question would probably be better answered by Shi'ias since they have some religious sites there I think.
