I would never leave my dogs for anything! I was offered a job in Hawaii making really good money, but I was told my dogs would not be able to come for almost 5 months, I declined! So nope I wouldn't leave them for anything, not even paradise! (;O yeah...I got another offer in DC which is actually better than Hawaii:) and my dogs were right beside me for the move:)

the thing is: they are my life, they are part of my life. As a consequence, at times, the decision i make do revolve around them as well. For example: going on holiday. Cant just go on holiday or spend the night out in a B&B with hubby. How about the dogs? We moved recently to a bigger place. This move was made especially for the dogs so that they could get a nice garden. There's things that need to be planned because my life now also involves 2 beautiful creatures. Thank God i dont have any kids.....

Absolutely! I wouldn't give up my dogs for anybody or anything. After my divorce of 26 years I had two dogs. I lost everything else, But I have my dogs. I have almost been homeless at a bad time in my life and I slept in my car a couple nights. But I always found a way to hold on to them. Everybody told me I should get rid of them because of my financial situation. NOT AN OPTION!! They are not just things. They are living creatures that I love. They are part of my family. One is 101/2 and one is 18 this year. They have been with me though the toughest period in my life. They always love me, don't care where we live as long as they are with me. Even comfort me when I'm upset. I don't know what I would have done without them. Outside of my 26 year old son, they are the most important things in my life. I will take care of them and love them no matter what until their time on earth is done. I couldn't imagine giving them up. They have brought me years of unconditional love, joy and companionship. I wouldn't give them up for anything!

I definitely agree. I love dogs more than I really like human beings. I consider my dog a very important part of the family and I can't imagine leaving her or abusing her.

it's nice to see someone so in love with their animal.
No. I would never leave my dogs. I have made kennel reservations with their vet many times and cancelled so many times that they just laugh now when I call them. They fly with us, we stay at hotels which cater to dogs (more and more common) and the few times we had to leave overnight (many years ago) when my one dog was very young, I hired a trusted friend to babysit and stay with him every minute we were away.
No. My babies are my babies. They go where I go and, while some people have made comments about how spoiled they are, having the run of my house and all, I tell them straight out...they live here, you're just visiting.

I stayed on the porch with my dogs when a tornado was going right over my house because I didn't have a way of taking my animals with me. I wasn't leaving them. Then we were on vacation in Ohio and found out hurricane was going to hit where we lived and we went home and stayed on porch again because I wasn't going to leave them at borders while it was going on. We really had 14 trees fall on our house during the storm but we stayed on front porch during the whole thing with dogs and cats.Would I leave my animals? I don't think so.They did not ask to be where they were put into danger and when I took them , I took my responsibility seriously.....I will stay with them if I can not get them out.

Okay I must admit I am obsessed with my Dog.....she is an incredibly awesome baby girl. 8 Months old this Sunday - Bullmastiff....she is Loyal, loving and very laid back. She goes to daycare while I am at work and I cannot wait to see her at the end of the day.
We waited so long for the breeder to have pups again and now we are blessed with such a great family companion!
P/S she gets spayed tomorrow - Say a prayer...I just hate anesthesia for animals!

I would never leave my dogs and cats unless forced to by declining health. My pets are my family and best friends. Plus they are good for my mental health and my bloodpressure. I give up a lot of things to keep my pets happy. I am responsible for them for their lifetime.

I am sorry, do not take me wrong, I LOVE DOGS!!! but of course I would leave my dog if the life my son or a human being was in danger (like a burning house and having 2 babies and my dog to rescue) my heart would brake, but would not hesitate for a minute who should I save!!!!
(the two babies, of course!!!)
