This is hard to answer. Giving you a pep talk about how to asking him out conflicts with the fact he is currently taken. You need to slow your emotions down just a tad. If you rush these things you might come across looking like a boyfriend stealer. That might scar up your reputation some.
You need to get him to dump his current girlfriend first.
It might be as simple as telling him the list of things you say she doesn't do for him. Explain that you are willing to actually be a girlfriend and not just carry the title of one. At younger ages it's common to send notes .... notes are cute after your a couple. Before you are a couple you need to talk to him personally. It will have a much great effect on him.

Your friend might have had good intentions but when you analyze it, that was pretty dirty of her, especially if the guy has another girl in his life... now what if the guy's girl steps to you and is upset (which she has a valid reason to be upset) is your "friend" going to sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Maybe at this point there is no need to cut your friendship off but it is cause for a red flag and I would definitely never ever incriminate myself with a note ever again. In your eyes she should loose her privileges of getting notes from you and if she sends them to you always be vague and try to always make sure she has the same to loose... and of course the next time she brings up something personal write her back and say that you will talk to her in person later and remind her exactly why. I hope this was of help.

â¥â¥well, even though you like him, just wait. Tell his friend that if he really likes his girlfriend, let them be. Wait till him and his girl friend breaks up and once you find out, ask him out, or if you are to shy, wait for im to ask you out. â¥â¥

That wasn't very nice of your friend. Just play it by ear. I wouldn't persue him until he brakes up with his girlfriend. It's not REALLY bad that he knows. The truth will set you free. ;o)

Play it cool, don't sweat it! Let him approach you if he wants to be with you. Don't go after him because it makes you look like the homewrecker!!!

well no offense but maybe he doesn't like you in the same way that you like him. i think that if he like seriously liked you as much as you like him he would dump the girlfriend he has and ask you out.
