An atheist is a mythical person who is said to believe that there is no God. In reality, these people do not exist, however there are people who go around claiming that they are atheists. I think that they are angry at God or something, and they ramble a lot, but they acknowledge God so much that no one can take them seriously (in their claims).

Some people try really hard to become atheists, but they never quite pull it off. For one thing, being a true atheist demands being a criminal, breaking laws, or trying to break the laws of both man and God. Along these lines, since God is Life, Love, and Truth, an atheist must deny these things and who can do that?

Somebody that doesn't believe that gods exist. Pretty simple eh? Too many religious loons seem to want to spread lies about atheists needing faith or that atheism is a religion. Atheism is simply no belief in your god or anybody else's.

One lacking belief in the existence of a god or gods. Here it is, broken down into parts:

a- (prefix) without
theism (noun) belief in the existence of a god or gods
(word parts for theism: [theos: god, deity] & [-ism: doctrine, belief])

Therefore, atheism literally means "without god belief" or "without belief in the existence of a god or gods".

There are several different kinds of atheism beyond the standard definition. Atheists can be of the "weak" position (being without belief) or the "strong" position (believing gods don't exist). They can also be "explicit" (consciously rejecting the notion of a god) or "implicit" (being of the "weak" position either because they are incapable of conceiving of the concept or because they were never introduced to it).

This is what dictionaries are for, dear. Try dictionary .com and enter 'atheist'. It's basically a person who has no belief in any god or gods or afterlife or demons or any of that stuff.
