I use Hot Tools brand and I find that it really works the best. On the website I've linked below, they will recommend the best Hot Tools straightner based on your hair type.

It also helps to use Aveda anti-humectant polmade after straightening--it moisturizes your hair to keep it healthy, and it protects your hair from humidity, which keeps it straight all day (even longer, actually). It smells really good, too, and one little jar lasts forever.

A Chi is the Louis Vuitton of hair straightners. It's pricey, but it works wonders. If you're looking for something cheaper, there's a white one Revlon makes that only costs about $25 that works pretty well too.

Use salon straighteners, you have to pay more but they are so worth it. Ceramic ones are the best, they don't damage as bad, but get one with varying heat settings as well. The drug store brand ones damage hair too much and I find don't last as long, so you end up spending the same amount in the long run, usually the salon ones will last years, I've had mine for about 4.

im gonna have to agree w/ the first comment. the wet to straight one. its not very expensive but i dont recomend using it on wet hair. because u will fry ur hair :S
but i use that one & i've been pretty happy w/ it so far.
