have always thought that Muslims teach their kids to be tolerant and peacful until I found many TV shows that show Muslim scholars who say very weird things about other religions. One of those shows can be found here:

Islam does not have a single leader, the way Roman Catholicism has the Pope. Every imam (leader) decides for himself (no women allowed!) what Islam means to him and his congregation.
Many, many Muslims believe that Islam is a religion of peace; that "jihad" means the holy war within yourself to avoid sin and be a good person.
And other Muslims believe that Islam means jihad against anyone who is not a Muslim.
Just like the Christian Bible, the Islamic Koran provides verses to justify either point of view.
Looking back at their history, though, gives some additional clues. When the Muslims ran Spain, they tolerated Christians and Jews. When the Christians ran Spain, they banished all the Muslims first, and then all the Jews in 1492. Christian England banned all Jews at one point, too. And Christian New Englanders murdered "witches" and drove away anyone who did not belong to their particular sect. Christians had the Crusades, Muslims have had jihads.
No religion comes out of this kind of analysis looking 100% holy, tolerant, or innocent.

The only religion he mentioned was Judaism and he said nothing about being intolerant towards them. He simply could not understand why they would reject constantly signs from Allah and that they have done so since the time of Adam (pbuh) Did he say go out and beat them? Go out and kill them? No and no. We are taught to be tolerant of other religions even the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed his respect at a Jewish funeral. I can assure you I for one am taught nothing but good and tolerant things towards other religions. And that is exactly what i teach my children, live and let live. Before i was Muslim and still now i am Muslim.

the religeon is meant to be tolerant, however...
you have all those muslims over there who dont know how to read due to poor schooling systems, then you have the educated ones who can read who reads the koran and says to all the illiterate that god wants this and that, that god wants you to kill the infadels and such and if you do this then you will go to heaven after you die and get all them virgins and just be in total bliss, but only if you do what the smart people say to do, cause they "know what god wants"
so, its not the religeon, its the crackheads who follow it and misinterpret it that are the intolerant

One Muslim just said "death to hypocrits" in an answer to the question about Psalm 137:9. So apparently he is not so tolerant.

That and cutting off heads seals the deal for me. And then there's that business about flying passenger jets into those two towers. Oh, did I mention when they send their children out wearing backpack bombs to detonate themselves? No. I almost forgot that. Those are signs of a demented society.

No abramic religion is tolerant. All 3 tell you to kill anyone who disagrees with you, jewdaism, chrisianiyt and isllam as well as all their spin offs are all violent and dangerous. Say no to jesus and mohamed.
