I got a 21 speed mountain bike last year (a Trek for $320) to ride around the area for a good workout. I only ride on the roads really (they're like back roads) and it's very hilly around here, so that's part of the reason I chose a mountain bike over a road bike. The bigger reason was that it was a lot cheaper to get a good one.

So anyway, I've been using the stock tires it came with, but I want to get some new ones that would be better on the roads. I was looking at these two:

Which do you think would be better and why?

I was looking at that Forte before, too. I like the tread. That Holy Roller looks nice as well. This is why I cannot decide!!!

Of the two, I would say the second Continental. The tread pattern is better. However, I use Panaracer for road stuff. Damn good tyre.

Luck

Town and country would probably offer less resistance and roll smother and faster while still be ok on rough roads. Others are thicker with more tread, may be a little slower. But, again these are Continental tires, you can't go wrong with either. If you want faster, lighter tires go thin (1.5 - 1.9) and make sure they are folding kevlar, not still wire.

I don't see any problem with either one. I'd say buy which ever one is cheaper.
