This question pre-supposes the existence of A:Jesus and B:the Devil, I don't actually think either of them exist. There really isn't much historical support for the existence of Jesus and as for the devil?

Yes. It simply means that his hands were tied by the command that our Father gave him. In otherwords, kindness and goodness will eventually win out over evil. I know that is the old guy in the white hat thinking but I do believe it.
