OH I say just go with a mish mash of fresh fruit and add in some dry ones too. When you order it though, pay with cash so they can't track it back to you. Put a note in it say "I'm so sorry I messed up your car. I hope the fruit makes it all better."

Not a good idea. You should send them a note and explain that you were the one who hit their car and want to make it right. Was there much damage? A basket of fruit won't pay for the repairs, money will. If you don't want to give your name, because you are afraid, maybe you could send them some money and a note apologizing for leaving without telling them. Use this as a lesson, if something like this happens again in the future remember how you feel (guilty) and do the honorable thing, leave your information.

Causing damage and then leaving the scene is a crime. Where you impaired at the time? In order to make things right you need to contact the people and ask them what was the cost to repair the damage you did. Then pay up!
Forget the fruit basket. That would be an insult.

Oh ya sure .. it will give them something to eat because they can't afford it after having their car fixed.. That's why I drive on sidewalks because of people like you ..
Do the right thing and confess your crime .. yes hit and run is a crime and probably any minute now there will be a great big old police man knocking at your door .. fruit basket ya right ..
Oh and if you had insurance and the company hears of this guess what .. you aint drivn no more ...

Your best bet is to hire an attorney, since your guilty of hit and run. You didn't mention in your post whether or not you called the police,
Depending on what state you live in your looking at a $5000.00 fine or up to one year in jail. You can't honestly think you can buy some one off with a fruit basket do you.
I had a similar situation and I took the plea agreement, and it cost me close to $3000.00, that included all the fines, restitution, court costs, and attorney fees, plus the fee to have my license reinstated. You better start saving!!!!

Ummm your not the brightest crayin in the box are you? If you hit someones parked car and left without leaving anything or contacting them, you are guilty of leaving the scene of an accident. That my friend is a crime. No amount of I'm sorry fruit will wipe that away...sorry Charlie.

I think I would worry a little bit more about going to jail then giving them a fruit basket. What you did ammounts to a hit and run...a felony. If I got a fruit basket from someone who hit my car and did not leave a note, I would honnestly make sure that you went to prision...sorry just being honnest.

A fruit basket is hardly payment for damage to someone's car, which they have to pay for.
