Actually, "receipt" is used in some areas of the southeastern US. It may have fallen out of vogue, but it is still a valid definition.
Spaghetti with garlic and butter? Boil one gallon of water. Add a teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of olive oil. Take a handful of spaghetti (just to measure... the ring formed by your thumb and index finger makes about four servings) and add to boiling water. Cook until al dente (to the tooth... slightly chewy), stirring every few minutes. Any more than ten minutes, hell, eight minutes and you get gloppy pasta.
NOTE: You can use more water and skip the oil, but it takes more time to bring that much more water to a boil.
In the meantime, melt half a stick of butter. Raise the heat slightly and add three pressed cloves of garlic to the melted butter. Sweat the garlic until it is clear. If you'd like, raise the heat a little more and saute for one minute.
Drain the spaghetti in a colander. Remove the spaghetti to a bowl. Pour the garlic and butter over the top and stir to mix.
Serve and enjoy.
Personally, though, I like onion and butter. Mince half of a good sized onion and saute in the melted butter.

Cook pasta, melt some butter in pan, add a couple of cloves of crushed garlic, saute on low until garlic is soft, add the cooked and drained pasta, sprinkle liberally with parmesan cheese, toss and serve. You can also add chopped fresh tomatoes if you like them. Delicious and simple.

not sure exactly what ya mean but here it goes.
Sauce- olive oil and fresh garlic sauteed. Then add crushed tomatoes lots of Italion seasonings a glass of red wine. If you are doing a meat sauce cook the meat a little first to get rid of grease then add it to the sauce.
Bread- butter it. add garlic powder, parmesian cheese, moz cheese and some oregan on top
