I just found out there is a convicted Sexual Offender living in my neighborhood which is within 1 mile of an Elementary and a High School. I thought they were not supposed to live near a school?

He was convicted of: Carnal knowledge of a child 13-15 years old. Do you call being worried about someone like that a "witch hunt". How sad. Oh, and it is also less than 1 mile.

Depends upon which state and/or city you live in. In the state of Florida, for example, sexual predators cannot live 1000 feet from a school, park, daycare, or any place where children gather, unless the city and/or county laws are more strict. I suggest doing some research on the internet regarding your local laws, or call the non-emergency number for your local police station; they would be able to help you.

people can be convicted of a 'sexual' offense for many different reasons.

if cops find a couple of people messing around in a car, they can be charged and potentially convicted of a sex offense and made to be on the register for 20 years.

before you start your witch hunt, why not find out what the guy actually did...
