We have pubic hair because the pheromones that come from our genitals attract a mate (we're animals, afterall), and the hair kind of traps the scent. A little gross seeing as the scent isn't the most pleasant thing in the world, but on a biological level, the scent is a turn on.

Evolutionarily speaking, hair was to keep us warm. As we learned how to keep ourselves warm artificially, we began to lose the hair that was no longer necessary. Now, all we have left is hair in the places where we lose the most heat when naked: the head, the armpits, and the pubic region!

Give us another million years or so, and we will probably lose the armpit and pubic hair as well as other "useless" parts of the body like fingernails and the tailbone. Head hair will only go away once women decide to stop preferring men with a full head of hair! (Hopefully that won't take a million years).

This is a stupid question.
We were made that way because we are not supposed to be wearing clothes...get it now
Why do Monkeys have hair all over?? becasue thats what they need to survive. If we didnt have clothes then we would need pubic hair to keep bugs away from certain areas.

Humans have hair in general because back in early times with cavemen it was very cold, there was no source of clothing, or heaat, except thee sun, so humans had a lot of hair on them.

Today we don't have as much hair because we have adapted to being warm due to clothes, heating, and blankets.

We haave pubic haair to keep up warm down there aas well and it helps block bacteria.

Nobody knows for sure, but there are several possible reasons:

One, to lessen friction. Hair makes it possible for skin to rub against itself without becoming abraded.

Two, to facilitate the dispersal of scent. With increased hair comes increased surface area, which makes it easier for scent molecules (body odor) to become dispersed in the air. Some animals use body odor to signal fertility, perhaps at some point humans or our ancestors had a similar system.
