Catholics believe suicide when committed in full knowledge and deliberate consent is a complete turning away from God (a mortal sin) and will send a person to hell.
There are 3 conditions of a mortal sin: grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.
While suicide (or any kind of murder) is always a grave matter, people who commit suicide may not always have full knowledge of what they're doing. Drugs can definitely impair one's thinking, as can other things, such as diseases, intense pain, or anguish.
Therefore, suicide is not automatically treated as a mortal sin.
We are commanded by Christ not to judge others so we leave final judgment to God who alone knows each person's heart.
With love and prayers in Christ.

Hi. There is a such thing as heaven or hell. I cannot judge your friend and say if she is going to heaven or hell because I don't know if she was saved. To be saved, one must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead - (according to Romans 10:9-13). Yes, Christ Jesus did die, thus paying the penalty of death for our sins, but He was resurrected. So, I pray that God comforts you and gives you peace about the situation of your friend, but the question now is: are you saved? She is not in the physical realm anymore and I hope she was saved (although, I have yet to understand why a saved person would take their own life). But, once again, the focus is on you. Do you want everlasting life? Jesus can and will give it to you. He will deliver you from every evil work in life and He will give you peace and love in your heart. Won't you come to Him? Just follow what Romans 10:9-13 says and enter into an everlasting relationship with our Creator. Invite Him in and be filled with the Holy Spirit, our comforter. God bless you in Jesus' name. Amen.

There is a heaven and a hell. It doesn't make any difference that she prayed a lot or that she killed herself. That has no affect on where she is going. The only thing that matters is what she did with the person of Jesus Christ. Did she accept Him and surrender to Him or not? That is the only thing that matters. If she did, she's in Heaven. If not, unfortunately, she is in Hell.

I am so sorry for your friend's loss. A relative of mine also committed suicide.
There is a heaven. A limited number of people go to heaven. Others are resurrected to live on the earth. The people who are not worthy of a resurrection go, not to hell, but to Gehenna, which is eternal destruction. - Matthew 10:28 It is not a place of conscious torment.
Suicide can be the result of mental illness, extreme stress or genetic defects. God is the one who knows why your friend's sister killed herself and he is also merciful and forgiving- Psalm 103:10-14
Ask your friend to trust God to do what he thinks is best. He alone knows what was in her heart and mind. No human can say whether or not she will be resurrected. I have the hope of seeing my relative again, but at the same time, I am also able to accept the possibility of his not being resurrected. It is God's decision who is/ isn't resurrected, not mine. I will accept any decision he makes because I believe he knows what he is doing. I urge your friend to develop that same attitude and trust in him.

There is such a thing as heaven and hell but not what most people image, hell is what life is like without God and heaven is what it is like when you do follow His ways. People are saying she is with Jesus, but you must realize that if she knew Jesus in this life, she wouldn't have taken her own. He gave his life so that we could have everlasting life and be cleansed from sin. She is in purgatory, neither heaven nor hell but in between.

Only God can decide or say. Don't listen to the words of man on such a thing. She shouldn't have done it but God knows what was in her heart and soul. She might to be forced to return in another life worse than the previous one. Only God can say.
I'll pray for her.

There is such a thing as heaven and hell. I don't believe that all suicides are lost. Suicide is a serious thing to talk about. It is a form of homicide. Since we are created in GOD's image, it is a sin to murder anyone including ourselves.
The Bible says that Jesus payed the penalty for our sin on the cross. So if your friend's sister believed in Jesus then she is in heaven. We don't need to do anything in order to be "good enough." We only need to have faith in GOD. Since your friend's sister prayed a lot, it seems that she believed. We can be comforted in this, but only GOD really knows.
According to Roman Catholic doctrine sins need to be atoned for by their rituals here on earth. They believe that suicides die without benefit of their rituals and therefore go to hell. I personally don't believe in their doctrine. The Bible says that Jesus dying on the cross was one sacrifice forever. We don't need to add to it by making up rituals.
"For GOD so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son
that whosoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life."

Read Kim O'Neill's book "How to Talk with Your Angels". She explains what happens when we die. And even if someone commits suicide it does not mean hell and damnation. I believe that we learn things as we live these hard lives on earth, but in the end we all go HOME to Heaven and beautiful afterlife.

Suicide is not an unforgivable sin. They go to heaven. God forgives everyone at heaven's gate and he will let her in. Do not worry she will find her way to heaven you just need to pray for her. I'll say a prayer for you and your friend.

If she was saved by Jesus she is in Heaven!
I can't find anywhere in the Bible that says that Suicide is an automatic sentence to hell. The Catholic Church says it is but it They say lots of stuff that isn't in the Bible.
