just eat a well balanced diet with proper portions and drink lots of water. green tea is best when you brew it yourself, but canned is OK, too. it has a lot of health benefits. here are some good sites.

Slimfast has worked really well for me because I LOVE chocolate and can't stay away from it. You drink it for breakfast with a fruit, for lunch with a piece of bread or yogurt, and then eat your own healthy dinner (frozen Lean Cuisines are great). A few things that have also helped me stay on track are healthy snacks like v8 juice, pretzels, and baby carrots. I have heard really good things about green tea but I would brew it instead of getting it canned - it tastes great if you make it iced yourself and you could even sweeten it if you wanted. Also be aware that if you're doing leg presses and working out like that it will cause you to gain muscle in your legs which is also 'weight.' So keep in mind that you might be gaining a little weight in muscle to lose a little weight in fat! Don't overdo it!

That's great that you are increasing your physical activity and are doing cardio(vascular) exercise which helps to burn the calories. (Hopefully you've been to the dr lately and know if it is ok for you to do physical activity.) And the leg press and calf raises can help to build and tone one's muscle so that they perhaps burn more calories at rest. I had tried a SlimFast drink back in the late 80's and it was horrible! It had a terrible taste, overly sweet and it basically worked like a laxative (diarrhea, sorry ;) in which loose bowels does Not help one lose weight but only water weight (and important electrolytes/minerals that help the heart to tick) which comes right back on. My friend's sister refers to slimfast as sh#%fast :)

Average weight loss that is considered healthy, that is Not merely losing water and muscle, is no more than 2 pounds a week. Someone posted the site for the new pyramid guidelines for weight management and health, and perhaps you can also talk with a registered dietician (R.D.) from the local hospital or enroll in a weight management program thru your local hospital that is accredited with the American Dietetic Association or American Dairy Council (believe that that's the name of the dairy organization). And some hospital based and/or accredited dietetic programs are at least partially covered by one's health insurance but please do check before signing up.

Whole grains/whole wheat (the food must have terms '100% and whole' before grain or wheat for it to be the whole kernel), fruits and vegetables and lean protein which can include nuts and legumes are generally recommended as healthy foods. Keeping a food log in addition to a physical activity journal can really help one keep track of their progress and where needing to improve.

A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. You don't need SlimFast or any other diet pills/tablets/drinks--you can do it without that junk!

Eat 5-6 small healthy meals a day. Never skip meals and never starve yourself. Keep away from fast foods, junk foods, sodas, candies and other sweets. Don't forget to eat those fruits and veggies each day!
Drink water!! Water does help with weight loss.
Your exercise plan sounds good--just be sure not do over do your work out!
