Yeah i got a 15 month old who will stack coffee creamers in restaurants but not his blocks. Who said thats a milestone, oh get over it. This boy didn't clap his hands until a month ago, but I never doubted he could if he wanted to, and I never doubted he was happy, and he's not stupid, hes very smart, there are just some things he will do and some he won't. He rolled over and crawled in the same day! He said daddy at 4 months old, never said it again for so so long, and then said mama dada and baba in the same day! He could stand at 8 months and walk along funiture at 9, but didnt take his first unassisted steps until 13 months, later that week he was running and jumping over toys! See, that milestone crap will scare you, but just look at your son, if he were interested, could he stack them? Do his eyes move wtih his hands, so his fingers move independently if he wanted to move stuff on top of other things, he could right? Then just drop the block thing he will not care until hes ready. Thats not an important milestone I think.

I wouldn't be concerned about this at all. Your son is perfectly normal. Every child moves along at their own pace, and the milestones are based on averages. At that age, most kids would be happier to knock down a tower than to build one. (I know my 12 month old daughter does!) Don't stress about what he isn't doing that "the experts" say he should and enjoy him for all that he does do. It'll all fall into place eventually.

Babies may technically have the ability to build towers at a young age, but most are not interested. Your son will exhibit his developing motor skills in ways that interest him more. Knocking over towers is so much fun, I have never met a toddler who did not love to do this!

OK mum, I've put one block on top of another. That appears to be everything I can do with blocks. Lets move on."
Destruction is much more fun than creation at that age. My son used to love throwing Lego blocks across tiled floors, because they went a long way. Maybe it's the movemnet.

At his age he may be able to stack two blocks, not a tower. Let him play. He has plenty of time to reach those milestones.

yes that is normal. Just about anything they do with blocks is normal. My niece use to throw them all over the place! Don't worry, he is doing just fine.

100% normal. I had two boys and both preferred the knock down over building any day of the week. :)

all kids have different personalities. Learn to except them for who they are but also teach them to behave well, not to destroy everything.
