I have a friend who is only 18 but she has no energy and she's always tired. She eats fast food on a regular basis, is her diet the cause?

Diet definitely has an effect on one's energy level. If he/she eats things high in sugar there is an initial rush of energy but soon that diminishes into lethargy, or sluggishness.

Things that have a sustained energy release are pasta, spaghetti, peanut butter.

Eating a good breakfast is the key. Eat like a King @ breakfast.

Eat like a Queen @ lunch.

Then like a pauper, or conservatively, @ dinner/supper.

Exercising I guarantee will boost anyone's energy level. But doing it on a routine basis is imperative.

Certainly. Well first of all everybody is different, I met people who live off junk food, and they seem just as healthy as me, who tries to eat reasonably healthy. But of course what you mentioned is even more common, because her body is basically just surviving off carbs and fat, but not too much on vitamins and minerals. Its like living without truly thriving. Also, the diet itself promotes a sluggish, oh let me watch tv while i eat this lifestyle. So they dont get enough exercise, and the fat slows them down. You really should convince your friend that some healthy food can taste good and is certainly important for her. I dont want to sound like im nagging, some people say i am. But hey, its important to eat well.

Absolutely! Taking in high fat foods will make a person extremely tired, even depressed!
She needs to change her eating habits!

Absolutely!

Anything we ingest, affects our bodies and therefore our moods. Even cars, when given poor quality gasoline begin to malfunction, so do we.

After reading this I promise I begin to eat healthier myself!!...I begin tomorrow lol

garbage in, garbage out. Eating crap will make you feel crappy. She's lacking vitamins and nutrients, and is eating unhealthy fats and sugars.
Your body can only be as healthy as what you feed it.

It could very well be. Those foods do nothing for your body.
