I got my tongue pierced 2 days ago and I'm having a hard time talking! haha. I hope this goes away. My question is if anyone else has experienced this gross dead skin stuff all over the inside of the mouth on the cheeks.

It doesn't hurt anymore really, but my tongue feels so awkward in my mouth. Will I get use to this? or should she have pierced it further back? I usually rest my tongue between my teeth, but now that part is pierced.

I don't remember anything about the skin cells or anything.... But it might be a side effect I never got. If you have any questions, just pop back into your piercinng studio... Ohh man... The swelling. Lol. I had such bad swelling for the first week it was sad. You'll get used to it, though. And you'll talk normal after the swelling goes down.

It's actaully better for your teeth that you don't rest your tongue on your teeth. You'll end up slowly pushing them outward and probably need braces. (I used to do that as a child, and had to wear a retainer that stopped my tongue from getting that far forward... Since then, it doesn't rest that far forward anymore.)

Once the swelling goes down and you get used to the jewelry it should go away. Plus, when you get a shorter barbell you'll feel a huge improvement.

Keep the piercing and your mouth clean. Use Biotene instead of Listerine and harsh mouthwash rinses because they tend to irritate the piercing and slow healing.

If you have concerns, you should always visit the person who pierced it and ask for their advice.

It has no longer something to do with orientation, actual some do it for giving yet another female excitement like adult adult males do, yet i be attentive to alot of right now ladies with tongue piercings...a piercing or tattoo can not tutor if somebody is gay or no longer.

Ha, you will be ok. It is all part of having a piercing. They are awkward and in the way for a while. You will learn to love it! I just put all of mine back in after having a baby. They are kind of sore from not being in for a while.

As for the dead skin- the metal in the piercing could be irritating your skin. When my cousin got braces, his case of chapped lips got so serious he had to go on antibiotics just to keep infections away. Ask your doctor if it's anything serious.

when i got my tongue pierced it took about 7 days for the swelling to stop, which totally sucked. i don't remember anything about dead skin on my cheeks though... you'll definitely get used to it over time.

My advice based on what you've said is, once it heals, get at least acrylic balls for the jewelry, if possible get an entire piece that's acrylic(this may be hard with smaller jewelry because it can break). The reason is that the metal balls will slowly but surely chip at your teeth. Think of it like having a fork always jabbing your teeth.

The acrylic will hurt your teeth less. Also avoid biting the balls.

It'll go away once the blood stops flowing through that part of your tongue.
