There are too many unanswered questions here...
What did the coordinator get done before she quit or was fired?
What did she butt heads with the mother over? Will it become an issue again? (Generally coordinators try not to butt heads with the families unless it is on behalf of the couple)
Why cant the bride or the bride's mother take over these duties?
What kind of budget is the couple on?
What does your neice want for her wedding?
Does she have a theme?
What is the wedding date (how much time do you have to plan)?
Email me and I will help you get organized.... It isnt as difficult as you think. Just take a deep breath and work through it step by step.

Just a word of caution. Make sure that you understand fully what she expects from you as a coordinator. My husband and I payed a coordinator from PA thousands of dollars last July and she did a great job up until the night of my reception then she just sort of quit. She never coordinated with the DJ the service staff, anyone. All of her hard work up to that point and my special night were ruined because she clearly did not know what to do. By the way the planner was Event Bella.
Thanks

Okay nobody else has said this I but I really feel like it needs to be addressed. Why the hell can't the bride coordinate the wedding. I mean I understand she wants a coordinator, but that's also her problem and the obstacles she has to deal with. Just because your her aunt doesn't mean it's suddenly your responsibility. Like a lady said above, you'll never meet her expectations. Not saying you couldn't do a good job, but you're going to disappoint her to some degree.
Tell her to get off her a s s and do it herself.

I had to plan my own wedding by myself and I found the best thing to do is make a list of what you need and then fine it. Here is my list maybe that will help.
bride needs: Dress, shoes,veil/ hair style chooses, make-up,leg band, someone to Alter the dress.
Bridesmaids: dresses, shoes,
flower girl: dress, shoes, basket, glitter to throw
Ring-bearer: suit, pillow and rings
Groom: Shoes, suit
Grooms men: Suit, shoes
Innovations, cake, caterers, flower (get fact flowers its cheaper and they last forever)
Resorption hall, Justice of the Peace, Marriage license, DJ music list for DJ, Something to cut the cake, desertions, cups, plats, silverware, table and chairs, Soda, coffee, beer/wine
And all the address of the people invited to the wedding. That just the starting point for what you will need to find. Sorry about the spelling. Hope that helps

I say let the Mom coordinate and offer your assistance in non-particular ways. Offer to pick up things, make phone calls, stuffing envelopes, wedding favors.....

Good luck, make lots of phone calls to everyone who owes you one, and let your neice know things might not be perfect but you will do the best you can.
