So there are a few questions about this already...but none about highschool. Okay, so I like this guy...but he is a year younger than me. I am a Sophomore and he is a Freshman. My friend is dating a guy six months younger than her and everything thinks it's weird. But I like him and I don't really care what other people think....well kind of, obviously I wouldn't be posting this. So...

The older you get the less age seems to make a difference. When you are young, the age gap is more obvious and due to rapid maturity may come between you. At this age it is more common for older guys to date younger girls due to the common thought that girls mature more quickly than boys. But you shouldn't not see each other if you want to just because of what people may think. It is a personal choice.

I think their is some sort of social stigma around any woman that is dating any man younger that she is. I mean it is unfair because and man can go out with any woman younger than he is. i think you cant base your life on what other people think, or you will never lead your life the way you want to. i don't think anyone other that your friends and his are even going to notice your small age gap. You aren't in high school any more so don't let other peoples opinions control your life.

Not at all. I'm a 17 year old senior dating a 15 year old sophomore. My friends teased me about it to begin with, but I teased right back. It's not really a big deal.

You should go for it...he'll be thrilled to have an older girl.

It's not wierd. I know the whole "Sophomore/Freshman" way of thinking is crucial for you. However, after high-school, you'll realize how crazy it was for you to be concerned with such a minor age-difference. So, if he makes you happy, go for it.

Not at all. Especially if it's only one grade below you. I've dated guys that were two years and two grades younger than me, and everyone thought it was sweet..so yeah! Go ahead ;)

Not weird. And even if it was, who cares? It's no one's business but your own. :-)
