You are right, so when you get the answer to the dilemma, let me know too. The infinite Christ is ever present. Waiting will not induce or promote spiritual understanding. Waiting is like being dead. The human race has a lot of work to do, so it eludes me why some would believe waiting is a stepping stone to something better. Waiting is just that, waiting.

To be brought home.
It is the blessed hope.
The redemption.

Time to go now.

We wait because He said He was coming back.
He hasn't for these two thousand years but we still wait.
Will we be dissapointed? No, I don't thik so.

As the time goes on there will be a lot of scoffing.

When refered to as the second coming, now it is as if it is a joke.

It has to do with faith and the continuence in it.

Those others believed and died.
They died in the faith.
I watched my 92 year old Grandmother die with this faith.
She really believed.
As a matter of fact, as death approached she believed all the more. I'll see her again one day.

Biblically speaking,
the true church is part of Christ, so in that regard, yes He still is present as long as/if true believers exist. Christ communicates with them on earth (in a number of viable ways), and has sent the Holy Spirit to comfort us and dwell with us, while he intercedes as a priest from heaven and prepares to return. Aside from that, your answer is NO--Christ is not here reigning on earth at this time (but will return). In God's view of time, often hundreds and thousands of years are very little time at all... And Christ said himself that He is returning very quickly to this earth ("in the flesh")...when Christ left, the messengers of God (angels) were quite clear Christ would return in the same manner he left...from the sky on the clouds to Jerusalem

The Word of God says that Jesus sent the Comforter. Before He was crucified He told his disciples that He must go however He would not leave us alone, He would send us the Holy Spirit, which is the Comforter. Thsi appears in the New Testamant.
The Word of God also says that no one knows when the Son of man will return, not even Jesus himself, only the Father knows. This also appears in the New Testamant.
The Wordof God also says that we are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. who lives in all believers.
Although Jesus is part of the trinity, He is not the Holy Spirit.

Yes he is here as head of the church. However the 2nd coming entails much more in that he is going to take on the role of conqourer over evil and usher Judgment Day.

Jesus is coming back to separate us from the wicked. He hasn't done that yet. Abviously there are still wicked among us. Jesus is coming to set up His kingdom on earth after He cleanses this earth with a fervent heat to rid it of all manmade objects.

We are actually commanded to watch for His coming. We get a crown for that. Besides, it's so exciting to think of our Lord's return!

Christ is now with the Father.

Colossians 3:1
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.

He will come again as it is said in Matthew24
3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

When He returned those who died for Christ will be raised back to life. Those Christians who are living will meet Him in the clouds and will rule together with Him for 1000 years.

1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
