Sounds like a case of the blind leading the blind. How are you going to stop them from falling into the ditch?

No I don't believe in limbo land, there's no harm in getting your children baptised,, I know a lot of people say wait until they make their own minds up, and I think that's good too, but if they make an adult decision they can get baptised again.

No, I don't believe in limbo-land. Limbo the dance is okay.

Why would you baptise your kids if you don't believe? Seems like somewhere inside of you there is a bit of belief. I think you should go to a Bible study group just to learn more for yourself what you actually do believe.

Limbo is found NOWHERE in the Bible. In fact, it is unbiblical to baptise someone who is unregenerate. You certainly should NOT baptise your children until they are saved and make that decision for themselves. The entire purpose of baptism is not to save, but as a public acknowledgement of your relationship with God (much like a wedding ceremony... the marriage license is what marries you, not walking down the aisle in front of your loved ones and kissing the bride).

Make sure they eat plenty of fish, and cod liver oil, because if you choose not to baptise them, and there is a Limbo land then they will need a strong and supple back to deal with all the bending underneath the poles...

The important thing is what your children choose to believe in later on in their lives, even if you did believe in baptism it is unfair to enforce your belief system on them until they can understand and make their own choice.

Amen Jackie, Nowhere in the Word of God is there even a portion of a verse that even remotely refers to Infant Baptism. No Baby was ever sprinkled in the Bible. Check it.

Just because some big “church” believes it does not necessarily make it correct theology. People will believe things that have absolutely no Biblical basis.

Baptism means nothing unless a person has received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. How can a baby show a good conscience towards God?

Baptism save a person as the Catholic church claims.

The Catholic Pope and his goons cannot unbiblically "infuse" the Holy Spirit into unbelieving babies through infant baptism.

Biblical Baptism means of spiritual renewal. How can a baby need a spiritual renewal?

Biblical Baptism is a public testimony to one's faith in Jesus Christ. How can a baby testify his faith in Jesus Christ? Can a baby talk?

No unclean person can enter God's kingdom! Do you think a priest can clean people with there sins ?

If we can get saved by baptism, then Christ's death was a waste of time. Galatians 2:21.

Jesus said that heaven is made for such as these when talking about children. There is no reference to limbo in the bible and only people of accountable age were baptised. Perhaps you don't "not believe" as much as you think you do or you would'nt question it.

What is your religious background? Some circles say yes to both, others say no. Personally I do not feel that Baptism is need for salvation because the thief on the cross with Christ was told he would be in paradise with Christ at that time. Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I think there is an age of accountability where a child knows right from wrong and the child must make their decision on religious belief's and salvation.

Limbo? There is no such place, outside outdated Roman Catholic dogma. I say outdated because since Vatacan II the Catholic Church seems to have abandoned, though not refuted, the idea.

Baptize them if it makes you feel better, but it does nothing for them.
Eph. 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; [9] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Christ commanded the baptism of disciples (Matt 28:18-20); children who have not believed are not disciples.

You should, however, bring them up IAW Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

If you don't believe then there's no point getting baptised. And I believe that children go to heaven if they tragically die before being able to make a decision for themselves about God.

Being baptised / christened doesn't make you a Christian. Believing that Jesus is the Son of God does, and that he died for you.

I do not beleive in Limbo because it is not fair. Many people are holy and faithful to God and are not baptised and I think they go to heaven even if they are not baptised. I do not beleive you have to be a beleiver to go to heaven but that is another matter. I think it is your choice totally. I would wait until your children are old enough to chose if they want to get baptisted or not. Then you can leave the decision to them. Good luck!
