My husband is in the airforce and will be leaving in may.We already have one dog and I was wondering how many dogs you can have while living on a millitary airforce base.

Most bases will let you have a maximum of two animals. Two dogs, two cats, one dog and one cat, you get it. That's been the rule on every base we've been to and we've been to lots of them!

Most places have a limit of 2 pets - usually cats and dogs only. They may also have limitations on the breed of dog you can keep - basically any breed that they deem "aggressive" may be prohibited from military quarters. I have seen some places allow 3, but 2 is pretty standard. You may be in apartment or have a tiny little yard, so 1 may be all you can handle.

They can also kick you out of quarters if your pets are loud, destructive, dangerous, or incredibly dirty.

AF is usually 2 dogs.......however keep in mind if you get stationed overseas (especially japan) alot of the housing is high rise apartments which are no pets...i know the base im on its a 3-4 month wait for garden houses and once a tower comes available and you turn it down ( usually within a week or two of arrival) you have to pay for your temporary lodging plus keep your dogs in the kennel. i have a friend that recently spent over $4k just to hold off to get a house where her dog was allowed. if i were you i would stick with just the one dog for now.

You need to check your lease (even in quarters, you will have signed one) or if you don't know where your copy is call your housing office. Rules vary from installation to installation (the usual number is two, though).
