Best way is to look around the house at what you already have and use those things to redecorate. It is called Decorating without spending a dime. Try it,you might be surprised at the results, and also maybe some of your friends have things they could bring over to help make it special too. Just some ideas, good luck

Give your friends an eye full when they walk into your room. Make a statement that is all about you.You can go to a thrift store and spend next to nothing to get some fun stuff, hand made art, curtains, pillows, vases, and even toys that someone would pick up and play with - even college age. Check your mom's and grandmom's for pieces of fabric you can tack to the walls or over window(s) to create a mood. A fun light fixture would be an open umbrella with the handle sawn off and tied to your existing light fixture. Make sure the bulb doesn't get close to or touch the fabric. The walls can be decorated with pages or clippings from your favorite magazines, pictures of friends and yourself, or a collage of stuff you wouldn't mind glueing to some tag board. Have fun and let your creative juices flow. What you end up will be a nice expression of "you".

I know you don't want to spend any money but if can budget in a few dollars ($5 -$10) if you go to Lowe's or Home Depot they have what they call oops paint. These are pre-mixed paints that customers didn't buy for what ever reason.. Paint, if your allowed to paint, makes a huge impact in a room. Have a Room Warming Party, like a birthday party but for your your room, many families have a House Warming Party... and in this party your friends may bring something special new or from their own room for you to have and display in your room. Also may cost a few dollars (less than $10) take a few good pictures of yourself, your friends, or meaningful scene and have your local photo lad such as Walgreens, Ekerd, CVS blow it up huge and put it on the wall...that would look super cool....

Lots of good advice. Cant add much but you may try to find stuff at Salvation Army or other thrift stores. You may find some cool vintage or unusual lamps and stuff to express yourself.

Go through your house and think outside the box.
Take things that you wouldn't normally put in your room.
Rearrange.
