These male cats are spraying everywhere! My female is fixed, yet these males still come around. How do I get them to stay away and stop spraying my house? There are streaks everywhere and it smells bad.

These male cats are spraying everywhere! My female is fixed, yet these males still come around. How do I get them to stay away and stop spraying my house? There are streaks everywhere and it smells bad. I've tried moth balls but that only worked for a little while. I'm tired of cleaning the outside of my house!!

Read the question Shelly, the cat IS 'fixed'.

There are sprays available at vets and petshops for the house and garden they are aimed at detering cats from spraying. Spraying is a vicious circle you see, once one has done it all the rest of the cats in the neighbourhood will want to cover up his scent with theirs! Using a spray might help break that circle.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

You should give your house a good clean, with a lot of soap and hot water!!!! The male cats come, smell your house, and spray! They do this because they think they have to mark their territory! Then, put Febreeze on the outside on your house (depending what kind of house it is!). If this doesn't work, then your best bet would be 1 of 2 things. 1 either put a fence up. Or 2 don't let your kitty out. Which would make her very sad!!!!!!!

other isn't much you can do. One of my friends bought this thing she put in her yard with a motion sensor on it. She placed it where the cats were coming in her yard. When they would walk by it the thing would start barking like a dog. It scared the cats away. The only trouble is they started coming into her yard in a different place. She ended up buying four of them.
The only other thing I have heard but I don't know if it is true is that cats don't like orange. I was told if you put orange peals around where they are spraying they will not go there any more. You could try it. It can't hurt anything.

I had the same problem not long ago. I washed, tried moth balls, everything I heard about. What finally worked is I sprayed cat repell from the garden shop on my door and entryway. It doesn't smell and the cats no longer spray all over my house.

When you see these cats outside... spray them with water. It won't hurt them... but they do not like it. I open the door and throw water @ them when the hose is not hooked up. I have also used coffee grounds around the area where they like to spray. I do know that there is something you can buy @ the pet stores, but I have never used it myself.

Try pouring some bleach or hot sauce they hate both smells..
Also try putting your cat in a locked room when they come around maybe they will get discouraged and leave. I figured they must see her so they keep coming back. Try keeping her out of the windows. That's what mine do So, That's how I know cats behaviors.

try sprinkling amonia around the perimeter of the house or apartment. cats do not like the smell and they should stay away. you should sprinkle it a few feet away from the house and then up next to the house. don't use too much or you won't be able to stand it.. we had to do this when we would put our trash out for pick-up to keep the cats out of it. it worked beautifully. you have to reapply after rain or snow.
