I am curious why people who say that they believe in the bible but bash Mormons for things like plural marriage and will not hear the book of Mormon for these reasons that was said to be a commandment at the time for certain reasons as in the bible.

In the bible the it speaks of plural marriage in Solomon and many other places and was acceptable. Should we not read or do away with the bible to be the word of God?

Furthermore I have a question about a story in Abraham. Why is it that there are things like insest where him and his daughters get drunk and have sex to preserve his seed and people still have faith?

I have one questions for those who always quote revelations saying not to add bla bla.

Did you know the book of revelation was writtin before half the books in the bible and they meant not to add to that book?
Does that mean we should do away with half the book?

There are many things that require faith and prayer. Shouldnt we rely on the spirit to confirm doctrine

\Legion,

You are talking about the wrong story in the bible. You need to read then come back and comment, and you are using scriptures as weapons or to make your point from your point of view but not in the context that they were meant to have been used for.

In my opinion, the hardcore religious people are the mormons (lds) and the jews. I dont like many of the other churches because society screws them up. People arent reverent, some things are just weird like catholics (i think its them) when they enter a church they bow and do a cross... Is that anywhere in the bible? Who created that?

Anyways...
Just because the bible warns of false teachings doesnt mean the lds church is one of those.

Also, For the church to be 100% you need prophets, like when christ was here, we had prophets, until the church died.

Any church that doesnt have a prophet I believe is a false church.

I love when people over see things. God did punish Lot's daughters for incest with the birth of Israel’s greatest enemies:

The Moabites
The Ammonites

Read your bible carefully with a clear mind.

Genesis 19
36 As a result, both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their own father. 37 When the older daughter gave birth to a son, she named him Moab.[b] He became the ancestor of the nation now known as the Moabites. 38 When the younger daughter gave birth to a son, she named him Ben-ammi.[c] He became the ancestor of the nation now known as the Ammonites.
Yes the Mormons I do not personally bash as you call it but I do not condone their false teaching. Do your research; remember false teachers are very clever:

2 Peter 2
False Teachers and Their Destruction
1But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

1 Timothy 1

Warning Against False Teachers of the Law
3As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer 4nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work—which is by faith. 5The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. 7They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
8We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9We also know that law[a] is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
God only intended one man and one woman not in multiples.
Abraham because his lack of faith in God slept with Hagar his Egyptian servant, his offspring Ishmael was the forefathers of the Arabs (i.e. Persians AKA Iran etc.) That was a punishment done to Abraham for his sexual immoralities. Do you understand, it all has egregious consequences for disobeying the Lord our God.
