Last night I was cooking dinner and noticed a really small grey insect crawling on the counter. I squished him with my finger which hardly left a mark as he was so small. But then I saw another one, and another one, and my roommate said she had been squishing them all day at the table and thought her cat had fleas (because she hadn't given it the flea medicine in a few months). So she said she gave her cat the flea medicine but these are definitely not fleas. They don't jump and they are more grey, not black and shiny like fleas. Please does anyone know what the hell these are and how do I get them to leave my house? I'm afraid they will harm the cat or us or my food.

They don't fly and they are definitely not fleas they just don't have the same shape/texture/color/wantingness to suck your blood like fleas do.

They sound like weevils - especially if you see them mostly in the kitchen.

Check bags of flour and other dry goods and you will probably find where they are coming from.

when was the last time you noticed fly insect? Did you find wings lying around? If so, you most likely have termites.

you gotta capture a few, take'em to orkin(wherever)...they'll tell you what they are....and then try to get you to sign a pest control contract...don't fall for that!

hey...the termite answer...that's worth checking out...look for wings in windowsills...
