Start from the bottom, and avoid running your fingers through your hair, or it will become neat again! It works better with corser hair, I have silky straight hair, so it's really hard for me, but not impossible. Bobby-pins are a must if you have big bumps, plus they are cute, and to accessorize add a flower on the bun, or put a thin headband on. If you need more help buy a teen magazine like Seventeen, or ask an older cheerleader you know, they are usually the masters of the messy bun! Good luck!

What I do is that this: A) i. positioned hair right into a ponytail however the final time you pull the hair via, simply pull it part approach so its in a loop bun ii. take random sections of hair from the bun and shove it in exceptional spots of the elastic across the bun iii. take the bun and variety of dishevel it along with your hand simply to make it extra messy (This often takes me approximately 30 seconds- two mins, relying on if im having a foul hair day or no longer) B) i. positioned hair right into a constant ponytail ii. take a small component to hair (of approximately a million inch thickness) and twist is round and round till it curls up on its possess. DO this with one hand and as soon as it's twisted preserve it with the opposite. iii. preserve doing this with the entire sections of the leisure of your ponytail. while you're performed, take an elastic and wrap it across the bun so it may not fall out. iv. positioned a few bobby-pins within the areas in which you suppose it's falling out and voila! (This often takes me approximately two-five mins) Good good fortune ?

Apply Wella Shockwave hair gum to the tail of your hair, than scrunch up into a bun, then after mould into the shape that you desire. I use this too make my messy buns and they come out fine. Also you could try water and hair spray

Go to: http://beinggirl.com/en_US/pages/funzone_hairtips.jsp and scroll down and click on "loose bun.". There it will show you how steps-by-steps. Except for, you dont have to use their products, you can just use generic ones. Or, what I do, is make a ponytail, but don't pull the hair thru the rubberband all the way, so its kinda like stuck in their rubberband or whatever, than turn it /twist it so its like a fountain type shooting up.

what i usually do is take a shower, and while it's still wet, i put it up in a pony with one hair band (you don't need to comb it back, just pull it. some lumps are ok). then i just use a couple more ties and wrap them around leaving pieces out every once in a while. don't worry if it's not perfect. it's supposed to be messy looking, so the only real way to do it right is to have it not look like you kept trying to fix it and get it perfect.
