we just found out from her sisters, that my Grandma is going into ICU, and the doctors don't think she'll make it. i don't what i should do, i've never had someone close to me on the verge of death. (accept for my step Grandfather, but we weren't really close.) i try to hug her, but is there more i can do?? thanx.

There's nothing that will take the uncertainty and pain away.

All you can do is be there.

When she feels like talking about it, listen.

When she feels like distracting herself, help.

If she has tasks related to this, offer to take some of them (informing people, making arrangements, getting things taken care of while she visits her -- whatever).

You can both comfort each other at times like these -- mostly by being there.

Trying to comfort people is a very hard job. All you do is try to help her as much as possible whenever she needs you. You are a good child if you do.

Just being there is doing a lot. And if she feels the need to talk, listen.

there is plenty you can do besides hugs, you can be there for her, dont give her time to think, you have to smother her with attention. take her out ot lunch go with her to visit her mom. stay near her and dont let her be alone or she might do something stupid. take care of your mom and be there for her. good luck.
