Well, I need to come up with 5 good reasons why the U.S. shouldn't have joined the League of Nations during WW1. Any suggestions?

The idea was not very popular at the time, people wanted to remain isolationist. It failed on numerous large issues of its day, much like the modern UN.

The sad part is that an organization like the UN needs to exist, but it sucks so much at doing its job that it is only in the way of its own goals.

The League of Nations was formed after WWI because of it. The U.S. came up with the idea but a change in the leadership and a return to our want to stay out of Europe's affairs kept us from joining.

The best answer I have is look at the UN. This organization is made up of many Nations that certainly do not have the our best interest in mind, that I can deal with. Many in fact want to see us weaker, that I cannot. The UN is a joke.
