I use to own a power Shot G2. Loved that camera. I have an Olympus Camedia C60 in the shop. I am looking for a really good point and shoot camera from Wolf or Ritz camera. They have a great extended plan and want to stay with them. Thanks for the help!

I bought the Canon PS S3 IS the first of March, and the first one I got had focusing problems, it focused slow, and at outer zoom limits focused about 50% of the time. I might have just thought that was how the camera was made, but it also had an artifact on an innner lens, so I took it back and exchanged it for another S3.

Well, this one works like a dream! there is very little shutter lag, it focuses quickly and well, even at full zoom. I really love this camera.

Are you using it on full auto? I found the S3 takes unsatisfactory photos on full auto, but on Program or Manual mode, with the settings tweaked, it's excellent, including focus times.

Perhaps it is the camera, too ... the difference between the first one they gave me and this one is a lot, I would check out another S3 before throwing in the towel on it.

I love my Canon SD900, but it certainly doesn't have the zoom capability of your S3-IS. You can kind of make up for some of that by cropping the 10 MP images, though. It focuses quite promptly, though.

My pick would be the Sony DSCS5, it is 7.1 megapixels and has 12x zoom. Great camera
