He was aware of the situation because the baby was crying terribly (that caught his attention) and then he saw the mother crack open the can and pour it into the bottle and prop it up in the babys mouth.

Tell her to wait right there while you call social services.

Well, it really is detrimental to baby's health and some moms have no idea about the ingredients in things and how they affect baby or hurt them. I'd walk up to her and say - do you know that Red Bull has alot of ingredients that can be detrimental to a baby's health? I think you should talk to your pediatrician before giving baby adult beverages because most pediatricians I know recommend not giving baby anything but formula or breastmilk for the first 6 months since their stomach hasn't developed well enough to digest other things. You can approach people in a kind and respectful way - but they still may not listen to you. In that case, there's nothing much you can do since it's not something that is a crime. If she doesn't care about baby's health and there are other factors indicating child abuse or neglect then you can report the person to DCFS but you probably have to know their name at least in doing that.

by the way how did the dj know the baby was two months and if it was red bull

I'm wondering how a baby of only two months would drink out of a can or bottle of Red Bull. Does it even come in a bottle? If the mother had an empty baby bottle with her, did this local DJ actually see her pour the container of Red Bull into the bottle?

OMG that is horrible! I highly doubt that anyone that would do that expecially in public would listen to common sense. It might be kinda wierd but I would soooo keep an eye on her and wait till she got in her car get the plate numbers and REPORT HER!

I know that sounds like I would be violating her privacy but i really don't care that poor innocent baby doesn't have a choice and that could do some serious damage. I don't care what you say that is child abuse!

Child abuse.
Clear and simple.
Call the local department of human services and report this mom.

Once again, people - we really REALLY need to have a law that would require people to get a license to make babies.
Too many stupid people out there that just don't know how to be good parents!

Normally, I say let other people parent their own children, but that is a situation that is dangerous for the infant. Infants do not metabolize caffeine as adults do and should never be given it. I would say something, tring to focus on the science, not the parenting.

Redbull would be dangerous for the baby so i think i would be inclined to say something to the mother. But if she was ignorant enough to give it to the baby in the first place i don't think she would listen or just be totally rude back, so i'd be ready to duck in case she lashed out!

I think one would have an entical responsiblity to protect the infant. If the mother would not listen to common snese information sharing, perhaps a report to Child Services might be helpful. It may be a matter of lack of education.

That's hard because, as a mother I wld be upset if someone interfered with my being a parent, however situations such as those something should be said. I knew a girl ..who was a friend of mine who punched her son in the chest (3 years old) I try to talk to her first...but she refused...so called social services...they dealt with it.
